The aim of this pack is to encourage the development of problem solving skills amongst students of Administration. The pack provides sample problems and provides hints and tips on how best to tackle these problems. Some are deliberately obscure and ambiguous to provide students with the opportunity of dealing with such problems.

Sample problems are provided which can be solved using one or more of the 3 main IT application packages, i.e. word processor, spreadsheet and database. All examples within this pack use the relevant software from the Microsoft Office 2010 suite of applications. At the end of this pack, you will find a mini-project which contains tasks of an integrated nature. Students are given hints and tips on how to undertake this, and a "walkthrough" opportunity is provided for students, encouraging the development of a logical approach to tackling the problem.

This pack assumes knowledge of a range of features in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access. NO instructions are given in the use of these applications.
